2011 was an extremely positive year for Flamengo's Official Website. And, without a doubt, the main driver behind the growth of the club's official website was the Nation, which proves, with each passing day, that it is unparalleled. The website of Brazil's most beloved club was accessed in 13.177 cities across 210 countries, 23 more than in 2010.
But the Official Website's growth didn't stop there. There were 56% more unique visitors and 60% more clicks in 2011 compared to the previous year. The time spent on Flamengo's website also increased: 16 seconds more than in 2010. All the result of fan-focused work.
"We tried to improve on the work we did in 2010. And we succeeded. More important than the growth in clicks and hits is fan loyalty. I believe we are reaching the status of Flamengo's official media outlet for the nation. Flamengo fans know that news is only official once it's published on the club's website," said Henrique Brandão, Flamengo's vice president of marketing.
As for the number of countries reached by Flamengo's official website, the increase compared to 2010 was not surprising. After all, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, a world football star, was signed.
"Without a doubt, the Ronaldinho Gaúcho effect contributed to this increase. We hope to reach even more people in 2012. To this end, we will launch the official website in other languages. The project is underway, and we hope to give this gift to our fans as soon as possible," explained Henrique Brandão.
Country ranking
Brazil is clearly the country with the most visitors to Flamengo's official website. The United States, Portugal, Italy, France, England, Spain, Argentina, Germany, and Chile round out the top 10, respectively.
However, the official red-black website was accessed in, at the very least, unimaginable countries such as Sierra Leone, Vatican, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Faroe Islands, Nepal, Cyprus, Tanzania, Fiji, Iceland and Cuba, among others.
City ranking
Rio de Janeiro continues to lead the ranking of cities with the most visits to Flamengo's official website. Brasília, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Vitória, Fortaleza, Goiânia, Recife, and Curitiba round out the top 10, respectively.
Among foreign cities, Lisbon, in Portugal, leads the ranking, followed by New York (USA), Santiago (CHI), San Angelo (USA), Riyadh (QAT), Paris (FRA), Milan (ITA), Bogotá (COL), London (ING) and Rome (ITA).
