Euphoric after winning their sixth Brazilian championship, Flamengo fans gave another demonstration of strength in recent days, breaking the record for visits to the club's new official website. On Sunday, when Flamengo defeated Grêmio and won its sixth Brazilian Championship, the website www.flamengo.com.br received 100.338 visitors. This number increased by 60% the following day (December 7th). There were exactly 166.576 visits – double the number the site had reached the previous Monday, after the victory over Corinthians. The number of page views reached 731.857, originating from 141 countries and 2.578 cities worldwide. In November, there were just over 950.000 visits in the entire month.
One of the main attractions of the official website, in the minutes following the final whistle of referee Heber Roberto Lopes, is the Hexa hotsite, which can be seen at the main URL of the website, www.flamengo.com.br. Developed by the company HPMais In collaboration with Flamengo's Marketing Department, the site creates a mosaic, placing fans side by side with the players, randomly—with each new visit, new photos appear, submitted by the site's visitors. "Flamengo fans always support the team. It's only fair to democratically give them this space," says Executive Marketing Director Ricardo Hinrichsen.
"Since we launched the new official website on October 27, we have sought to prioritize the participation and collaboration of fans, from anywhere, in an inclusive way. The Nation area ( www.flamengo.com.br/site/nacao/), dedicated to the fans, follows this concept, with a series of new blogs maintained by various Flamengo fans and new reports about people who do everything for Flamengo", explains the site's content manager, Juan Saavedra.
Another improvement to the official website is its coverage. In addition to material produced by the club's press offices, soccer, and Olympic sports, the site has increasingly developed exclusive content from Agência Fla, with a reporting team that provides comprehensive coverage of soccer (including youth soccer), marketing, and the so-called Olympic sports, among other topics. One of the new features is the "You Interview" section, which allows registered visitors to submit questions to guests. Interviews have already been conducted with regulars like Zé Roberto and Álvaro, as well as with enduring idols like Adílio and Nunes, as well as basketball star Guilherme Teichmann.
New online store - One of the new features on the official website is the display windows of Mundo Flamengo, the new official online store of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. The website www.mundoflamengo.com.br went into operation this Sunday, December 6th, and becomes the club's official e-commerce address.
The initiative is the result of a partnership between Flamengo and NS2 – a company formed from the association between the sports marketing agency ESM and Netshoes, the country's largest sportswear retailer. NS2 currently manages similar contracts with other Brazilian clubs, such as Corinthians and Palmeiras. Flamengo receives royalties on each product purchased by fans through the new online store.
