Two club members attended the presentation of Mano Menezes as Flamengo's new coach on Monday morning (June 17.06). Eduardo Valentim and Marcos Araujo, son and father, watched up close, sitting in the front row of seats, as the Flamengo coach answered questions from journalists. At the end of the press conference, the two exchanged a few words with the team manager and took photos with him.
"I was very happy to see that Nação Rubro-Negra is truly helping Flamengo become stronger. There's no better feeling for us, fan club members, than seeing Flamengo stronger and winning. Every time we look at the sidelines and see Mano Menezes leading the team, we feel very proud," said Eduardo Valentim, who was chosen for being part of the +Paixão plan and having brought his entire family to Nação Rubro-Negra.
Sitting in the same booth as Mano Menezes, Wallim Vasconcellos emphasized how crucial the participation of Nação Rubro-Negra members was in the hiring of the new coach. The vice president of football also took the opportunity to extend an invitation to Flamengo fans who are not members.
"I thank the Flamengo fans for their support in this signing, and our club members, who once again made the arrival of someone of Mano Menezes' quality and class possible. I also ask everyone who hasn't yet joined Nação Rubro-Negra to make an effort and join. We are rebuilding Flamengo together. As the number of Nação members grows, we will invest more," said Wallim Vasconcellos.
