Club will have to play a match behind closed doors in the 2008 Brasileirão

The Superior Court of Justice (STJD) confirmed this Friday the punishment of Flamengo due to incidents in the match against Grêmio at Maracanã. As a result, the red-and-black club will have to pay a R$10 fine and play a match behind closed doors.

The penalty will be served in the first round of the Brazilian Championship in which the club has home advantage.

In the match against Grêmio, a mortar and a can were thrown at the refereeing team during halftime. The club was punished in the first instance, but managed to appeal and obtain a stay of execution. This Thursday, the Full Court's ruling confirmed and upheld the previous decision.
