This Sunday (03.08), Flamengo's under-15 futsal team was crowned undefeated champion of the Minas Internacional Cup with a 4-3 victory over Minas Tênis Clube, who were playing at home. Since last Friday (01.08) the tournament was taking place in Belo Horizonte, organized by Minas TC, bringing together great youth teams from Brazil and Argentina. The Mais Querido won a hard-fought game, with goals scored by Pablo (2), Elias and Fábio. In addition to the title, the individual award went to goalkeeper Lucas, who was named the best goalkeeper of the championship.

The boys' campaign was nearly flawless: out of five games, they won four and drew one, including a victory over the hosts in the final and an 8-0 rout in the semifinal. In their debut, Mais Querido defeated Uberlândia Futsal 3-2 (goals from Elias, Gábio, and Jonathan). In the following game, against the host Minas TC, they drew 3-3 (goals from Fábio, Wallace, and Lessa). Despite qualifying early for the semifinals, Flamengo defeated Minas Náutico 2-1 to conclude the qualifying round, with goals from Pablo and Elias. Minas Náutico was the opponent for the final spot and once again defeated Flamengo: 8-0, with goals from Fábio (3), Pablo (2), Lessa, Wallace, and Fernando. The victory boosted the Rubro-Negro squad, which decided the title against Minas TC.

This is the second international title for Futsal Rubro-Negro this season, after winning the Adidas Samba Tour, a tournament organized by the German sports equipment supplier, in France.
