The main attraction at Bar da Nação in Uberlândia captivated every Flamengo fan present. For an hour, idols Adílio, Rondinelli, and Renato shared stories from their playing days and recalled the major titles they won for the "Mais Querido" (Flamengo's Favorite). Moved by the presence of so many Flamengo fans, most of them members, the three former athletes praised the strength of their fans and emphasized the importance of Flamengo's association with Nação.
"For moments like this, and to help Flamengo, it's worth being a member. I want to benefit the club so it can be champion in everything," said Maykel Silva. The 20-year-old is a member of Nação Rubro-Negra and, as such, received a 50% discount on his ticket to the event.
The Bar da Nação is a new initiative from Flamengo's marketing department. It's an opportunity for Flamengo fans to interact with great names and trophies from Flamengo's history. In Uberlândia, for example, the Libertadores and '81 World Cup trophies are on display next to the stage where the talk show takes place. Members always enjoy benefits at the event.
"We're spreading the Bar da Nação across the country. The idea is to do this every time there's a Flamengo game, with members getting a discount. We're taking the opportunity to celebrate our idols from the past. We always invite them to join us," explained Fred Mourão, Flamengo's marketing and relationship manager.
