An unprecedented prize. Flamengo fans have a chance to win one of 11 official jerseys that will be worn by the starting lineup when they face Botafogo next Sunday in the first of two matches of the state championship final. The jerseys are the prize for the fourth week of the "Manto Sagrado - Quem tem amor à camisa participa" Cultural Contest, organized by Flamengo with support from DB4 and Agência 3. The initiative is part of a plan to generate resources for the club's football.
The contest – There are three ways to participate: all interested parties must declare their love for Flamengo. Those who wish to participate using their cell phone can simply send an SMS to 49400 with the word "Fla" and their own declaration of love for Flamengo. A judging panel will select the five best phrases, each of whose authors will receive an official jersey from among those worn by the players in the State Championship final – all autographed.
The same applies to those using landlines (or Oi cell phones or Nextel) who send a voice message. To participate, send a voice message to (21) 7802 0220 with your declaration of love for Flamengo. The authors of the five selected by the judging panel will each win one of the jerseys worn by the players against Botafogo, also autographed. The judging panel will be made up of Flamengo's Marketing Department.
You can still participate by recording a video and posting it on YouTube, declaring your love for Flamengo. Then, the creator registers on the website www.flamantosagrado.com.br and provides the video link. The creator of the video with the most votes will win an autographed jersey worn by their favorite player in the derby against Botafogo.
Week 4 of the contest has already begun. Interested parties can now send unlimited SMS messages and record messages, as well as submit videos. The deadline for submitting messages is April 28th, until midnight (Brasília time). Video submissions can be submitted until midnight (Brasília time) on April 24th, and voting ends on April 27th, at midnight. The counting and judging by the club's Marketing department jury will take place on April 24th. The winners will be announced the following day, April 28th.
The initiative has been running since April 2nd. Since then, three contests have been held, one for each State Championship match. The 33 winners are residents of various states and regions across the country—from Jaboatão de Guararapes, Pernambuco, to Tubarão, Santa Catarina. Rio de Janeiro residents had the privilege of receiving their prizes on the Maracanã pitch before the Taça Rio final, when the team displayed a white promotional t-shirt for the contest.
