Flamengo's official Twitter account, @CR_Flamengo, is competing in the second edition of the Shorty Awards (http://shortyawards.com), known as the Oscars of Twitter. The ceremony, taking place in New York, will recognize the best users of the microblog divided into 26 official categories - in addition to those submitted by the users themselves. Voting has been open since last Wednesday, January 6th.
Any Twitter user can be nominated and/or vote. You just need to have an active, public Twitter account before the competition begins—the organization doesn't count votes from private or newly created accounts.
To vote for Flamengo, simply tweet the phrase "I nominate @CR_Flamengo for a Shorty Award in #sports because..." and justify your vote. Only votes with a justification will be considered.
The top five entries in each category will be judged by members of the Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences. In 2009, the first Shorty Awards received over 50 entries.
