Games director at Aquiris, the company that developed Flamengo's Totó, Israel Mendes, from Rio Grande do Sul, has never been to Maracanã. But it wasn't necessary. The publicist relied on suggestions from fans to perfect details of the version released last Sunday, November 15th, in Rio. The game was a gift from Olympikus to Clube de Regatas do Flamengo for its 114th anniversary. "In addition to the research we conducted online, we had the support of Flamengo fans who offered tips, such as the order of the organized fans in the stands," explains Mendes.

The game reproduces the atmosphere and emotion of a Flamengo game at Maracanã. "We have the chants, the shouts, the fans, the fireworks, the balloons, the Maracanã in turmoil," he describes.

One of the main innovations, the creative director assures, is the replays. "They show a different aesthetic to the play. That's the greatest creative insight." Another goal was the hiring of commentator Silvio Luiz. "He's legendary and folkloric. We've been in touch, and he's been talking about Totó on his Twitter," says Mendes.

Flamengo's Totó, which already racked up over 26 goals in just over 48 hours, isn't Aquiris's first project for Olympikus. The company has already developed two versions of the Supervôlei game.
