England coach Roy Hodgson and representatives from the English Football Association visited the George Helal Training Centre (Ninho do Urubu) in Vargem Grande and the club's headquarters in Gávea on Thursday (July 26.07). The aim is to evaluate the locations to host the English national team in case they qualify for the 2014 World Cup. This is the second time that the British delegation has visited the Rio de Janeiro club.

"We are very happy to return to Flamengo," said the delegation's communications director, Adrian Bevington. 

During the visit, coach Roy Hodgson made a point of wearing a Flamengo jersey. Also present were the team's director of operations, Michelle Farrer; FATV representative Damien Cullen; COL Competition and Team Services Coordinator André Bello; and Match/FAO Events Manager Federico Dunzelmann. 

In 2012, Flamengo welcomed visits from the Dutch delegation and the FIFA refereeing committee, both interested in using the club's facilities. Furthermore, Flamengo has partnered with the United States Olympic Committee to have the club's headquarters serve as the American team's training center before and during the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
