Flamengo Twitter users set up a meeting at Engenhão
Seventh edition of "Twitter Nation" promises to be a success before Ronaldinho's debut

Twitter has become a sensation on the Brazilian internet since last year. Among the most discussed topics on the microblogging platform, sports are always present. Flamengo, of course, is one of the audience leaders. But why only exalt the club and discuss the games in the virtual world? It was from this question that Nação Twitter was born, which will have its seventh edition this Wednesday (February 02.02nd) at Engenhão.
Fabio Justtino, a 34-year-old Logistics Analyst, is one of the event organizers, along with the team from the Magia Rubro-Negra website, and spoke with the official website team about the party. The gathering will be at 19 PM, at Rua Dr. Padilha number 362, east wing of the Engenhão stadium. The landmark is Bar do Peixoto. All Flamengo fans are invited, and Fabio believes this will be the Nação Twitter event with the largest number of people.
"The idea is that around 19 pm, since many people come straight from work, they'll start arriving. It's difficult to estimate the number, because people are a bit spread out, but there are always quite a few. I think this will be the one with the biggest number," said Justtino, who recalls that even fans from other states, such as Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, and Espírito Santo, have already attended Nação Twitter.
"You might have two or three thousand followers, but you never imagine that everyone reads it. But suddenly someone retweets it, calls everyone together... That's really cool. It started very casually, but it's becoming part of the Flamengo events calendar. From what I see, from the excitement of the fans, it's already become a tradition. There are even people from outside Rio who come," he emphasized.
Fabio further explained how the idea of taking virtual friendships into the real world came about. According to him, friendships were formed and even relationships materialized after these in-person meetings.
"We always chatted a lot on Twitter about Flamengo, and few people were from outside Rio. We thought it was strange. So many people living in the same city, talking about the same club, but only virtually. During one of the Libertadores games, I think against Caracas, the idea came up. We were even afraid that people wouldn't show up, but they did, it was really cool, and it ended up creating more friendships, couples formed... It ended up becoming a tradition," he added.
