On Monday night, members of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, journalists, and guests of the club will be introduced to a new Flamengo concept. In partnership with its sports equipment supplier, Olympikus, the club will open Fla Concept today at 19 p.m., a 1.300-square-meter mega-store, built to the standards of Europe's biggest clubs and already the largest of its kind in Latin America.

The event starts earlier for journalists. At 18 p.m., president Márcio Braga and Olympikus marketing director Tullio Formicola Filho will hold a press conference and give an initial presentation of the club's new official store to the press. The official inauguration, for members and guests, begins an hour later, at 19 p.m., on the first floor of the Gávea headquarters.

FlaConcept is a store poised to join the ranks of the world's largest—it's the largest in Latin America—and an investment complex that will create a new tourist attraction for the city of Rio de Janeiro, anticipating investments for the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics. The space bears the hallmark of innovation, both in its architecture and layout, as well as in the variety of products offered and customer service. What's more, the store marks the beginning of the Flamengo Museum complex, which is expected to be completed by November 2010.

"We are honored by the opportunity Flamengo has given us. It's great to be able to turn dreams into reality. And this store has always been a dream of this club, of this red-and-black nation of fans. I'm sure this is just another step in this new era. And for us, it's a great honor to be part of this story," says Tullio Formicola Filho, Sports Marketing Director at Olympikus.

The opening of Fla Concept fulfills another commitment made by Olympikus and the club's board when launching the relationship agreement with the brand in July of this year. It's an innovative agreement that goes far beyond simply supplying sports equipment.

"We have been working tirelessly with Olympikus to offer customers a comprehensive mix of officially licensed products," comments Leila Monteiro, Licensing Manager.

Fla Concept also provides space for comfort and support for fans, with a lounge and TVs for customers to watch important Mengão moments. The windows display the latest official Olympikus uniforms for men, women, and children. The megastore's décor also includes a display of the club's trophies.
