Flamengo's victorious run in the 2009 Brazilian Championship culminated in their sixth championship title. Eternally remembered by Flamengo fans, the title was also made into a film. This Monday (05.04), Flamengo, in partnership with Globo Marcas and Editora Globo, released the official DVD of the victory, featuring Ronaldo Angelim, the scorer of the winning goal against Grêmio in the final game of the championship. Maldonado, another key player in the campaign, also attended the event.
Held at Fla Concept in Gávea, the launch thrilled the title hero. Ronaldo Angelim had already starred in several other films wearing a Flamengo jersey, such as the one for the fifth consecutive state championship, but nothing compares, according to him, to the thrill of winning last year's Brasileirão.
"I had already participated in other DVDs, right here at Flamengo, but never with such importance. I am very happy and honored to have been part of this story and to have helped the club since I arrived here," he commented.
Signed midway through last year, Maldonado was considered by the press and fans to be one of the main reasons for Flamengo's surge in the second round of the State Championship. The Chilean was pleased with the memory, but is already thinking about being part of a new glorious journey with Flamengo.
"It's a beautiful memory, one to cherish for the rest of our lives. It was great to be part of this title, and now, who knows, maybe we'll win the Libertadores too? That's all we need. It would be great. It's our biggest priority this year, and we're going to pursue this achievement," he added.
