Flamengo's Official Website and Marketing Department are proud to announce the 10 winners of the "Red-Black Dad is a Champion" giveaway. More than 3.900 Flamengo fans sent in their messages to win an official club jersey, and all of them, without exception, demonstrated just how large the Flamengo fan base is and how it will only grow, as the fans themselves drive this renewal, making their children true champions.

The campaign asked fans to share, in 500 characters, what their father did to make them a true Flamengo fan. Many moving stories were received, and several also reported that many Flamengo fans didn't follow their parents' team. Ultimately, 10 were chosen and are listed below.

It's important to note that winners MUST respond to the Flamengo Marketing Department's contact information to confirm their address for prize delivery. Anyone who fails to do so within ONE WEEK risks forfeiting their prizes.

Paulo Roberto Fernandes Dos Santos Filho, from Porto Velho – Roraima.

"My son was born a Flamengo fan, but at the age of eight he started supporting São Paulo, since my brother-in-law and his cousin were both Tricolor fans and had a crush on him. Seeing this happen, I decided to show him the greatness of Flamengo by going to Rio de Janeiro. We watched a Rio Cup semifinal between Flamengo and Fluminense, and it was no surprise: he came home a Flamengo fan through and through."

Michael Gilio Maciel, from São João De Meriti – Rio de Janeiro

"My dad was very democratic when it came to letting me choose my favorite team. He put several shirts on the bed and told me to choose one. The options were: Flamengo soccer shirt, Flamengo basketball shirt, Remo do Flamengo shirt, and so it was easy to choose. Thank you, Dad. You made my life easier."

Vinicius Pereira Simões, from Vila Velha – Espírito Santo

"I was born in 1981 and had everything to be happy, but my parents are from Laranjeiras. However, in 1992, my father gave me the greatest proof of love in the world. With the Brasileirão title, there was a big party on my street and I asked: Dad, why can't I be a Flamengo fan? He replied that I could choose whatever made me happy. I went out to the street to celebrate and I'm a Flamengo fan until I die."

Cleber Felisbino Da Silva, from Apucarana – Paraná

"I remember to this day seeing my father fighting with my mother over a piece of Nunes's shirt, which he had gotten at the Maracanã. She had thrown it away and he was upset. I saw his sad, empty look at the loss of his 'precious possession'. I was no more than six years old, but I already understood what it means to be a Flamengo fan. Thank you, Dad! Today I am Flamengo."

Diego Luiz Klug, from Joinville – Santa Catarina

"When my mother was pregnant, my father would draw the Flamengo symbol on her belly. When I was born, they say my father went to the birth wearing a Flamengo uniform, including socks. My mother even felt embarrassed, since my father was still waving a flag next to the doctor, which he had hidden inside his shirt to enter the delivery room."

Milena Amancio De Almeida Oliveira, from Maceió – Alagoas

"My dad was always crazy about Flamengo. But I had an uncle who was a Vasco fan. So it was a real mess. On my third birthday, I cried and cried because I wanted a Barbie doll from my dad and another one from my uncle. However, when I opened the gift boxes, I found a Flamengo shirt and a Vasco shirt. I started crying a lot, but I ended up stopping and putting on the Flamengo shirt. On impulse, I threw the Vasco shirt in the trash. To this day, I am grateful to my dad."

Ednaldo Rola Lamarão, from Porto Velho – Roraima

"My father became a Flamengo fan on the banks of the Madeira River. He was a huge Flamengo fan since he was a boy. I remember, since he was little, he would always listen to his old radio and watch Flamengo games. He told me many stories, and I grew up in love with Flamengo. I'm sad to remember all of this, as he passed away two years ago and is sorely missed. I couldn't celebrate the title he so longed for with him last year, but I was still happy to have seen the sixth title."

Carlos Frederico Tourinho Dos Santos, from Florianópolis – Santa Catarina

"Every night at bedtime, my father would tell me stories about an enchanted world where artists performed, led by a talented Rio native named Zico. He told me they had fun every time they performed, and so I grew up imagining what a wonderful world this was! When I discovered that this world was mine, that it was real, and I could see that my father was right, I realized that I was born a Flamengo fan, and I was certain that my father loved me more than anything, because he made sure that this happiness would be eternal."

Marcio Santos, from Rio de Janeiro – Rio de Janeiro

"My father took me to the Fla x Flu game in 1995 and, after we conceded the belly goal from R. Gaúcho, he cried and said: Son, a true red-black never gives up. And since then I have never given up on being a red-black. Although since then, I have cried a lot, but more out of joy than sadness."

Mizael Pinho, from Sao Paulo – Sao Paulo

On September 22, 1987, my father took me to Maracanã for the first time, to watch Flamengo vs. Santa Cruz. When I reached the stands, I looked out at the fanatical crowd, screaming, singing, and jumping in pure ecstasy. My heart raced so fast that I still get emotional remembering that moment. Then MENGÂO took the field with Zico and Co., to put on a fantastic show, complete with an unforgettable goal from our eternal idol! Could there be a better reason than that? Thank you, Dad."
