Clube de Regatas do Flamengo has a new vice president of information technology. Engineer Pedro Almeida, currently vice president of sales at IBM Brazil, will take over the IT department, previously held by Cláudio Pracownick, who now holds the vice-presidency of Fla-Gávea and administration. At IBM, the new VP also holds the position of regional vice president for the company in Rio de Janeiro, a role he has held since 2005.

Pedro Almeida began his career at IBM very young, at the age of 22, in 1988. Throughout his time at the company, he has almost always worked in sales—first in finance, then in retail, and finally in industrial.

At IBM, the executive also held the positions of Industrial Sector Director for Latin America and Smart Cities Director. In the latter role, Pedro was responsible for projects in an area considered one of the pillars of the company's global strategy.

The executive holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He also holds an MBA in Business Administration from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets and a specialization in the same field from Harvard Business School.
