The story is curious. Rosicleia Cardoso Campos, who competed in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games as an athlete and is now the coach of Flamengo and the Brazilian women's judo team, says she was introduced to the sport through catechism classes.
"On the same street, there was a judo gym. I started skipping classes to go watch the training there. The teacher found out and went to talk to my father. Instead of fighting, he enrolled me in the gym," Rosicleia said in a report on the TV Fla program.
In the interview, she tells stories like this and talks about her taste for victory, the Brazilian Olympic Prize she won in 2011 and her work leading up to the Olympic Games taking place in Rio in 2016. And she also talks, laughing, a little about her work style: "sergeant, but nice."
