The chance meeting took place in Flamengo's Marketing office. Goalkeeper Julio Cesar, a starter for the Brazilian national team and Inter Milan, was chatting with the FlaMarketing team early this evening when he was surprised by the entrance of Bruno Coimbra, president of the Zico Football Center (CFZ), and son of one of his idols.

Julio Cesar visited the FlaMarketing room shortly after leaving the club's trophy room, the setting for a long interview with journalists Paulo Vinicius Coelho, André Plihal, Cícero Melo and João Palomino, all from ESPN-Brasil.

The goalkeeper, who played for Flamengo between 1997 and 2004, directly participating in the 2001 and 2004 state title wins, said in a brief interview with the club's official website that winning the third championship in 2001 was his most memorable moment at Flamengo. "Especially because I was just starting out. Everyone talks about Pet's goal, but those saves that came before were important for the title. After hearing Zico say that half the banner had to be for me, I didn't need anything else. Hearing that from my childhood idol was a source of pride. That's my greatest memory of Flamengo."

Wearing the club's new jersey, a gift from FlaMarketing, Julio Cesar says that even in Italy he follows all of his beloved club's games live online, and that he doesn't even need to try to convince Cauê, his son with Susana Werner, to follow his father's lead. "He's been a Flamengo fan since he was a kid. His first son, and a son, has to be Flamengo," he explains.

Regarding Adriano, whom he paid tribute to after winning the Italian championship for the third time, the national team's head coach commented: "A person has to be happy with themselves. He's doing what he loves, which is playing football and for Flamengo."

Regarding the Brazilian team that will likely compete in the World Cup in South Africa, currently featuring three players who came through Flamengo's ranks (himself, Juan, and Felipe Melo), the goalkeeper comments: "I think it's great. It's a source of pride for Flamengo fans. It's further proof that we need to invest in the youth academy."

Bruno Coimbra – The president of CFZ also visited the club this Thursday afternoon, a little less than two weeks after the signing of the memorandum of understanding for a possible merger of CFZ with Flamengo. "I came here to finalize a few things. We gave the green light to the Getúlio Vargas Foundation to present how this process would work. I'm a mix of anxious and curious. I hope it turns out to be something interesting for Flamengo and for us," said the father of Felipe, one year and three months old – one of the reasons Zico could bring forward his return to Brazil. "He misses him terribly; he always likes to see his grandson online," says Bruno Coimbra.
