Zico launches app in Gávea
"Zico – The Official Game" app. Users can have fun while learning about the professional life of Galinho de Quintino.
By Communication - Official Club Website - inZico launched his official game for Android and iOS smartphones on Monday afternoon (June 10.06). Throughout the levels, users have the opportunity to have fun trying to achieve the goals set by the app while also being introduced to places that marked the Galinho's career. The launch event took place at the Gávea headquarters.
"It's a pleasure to have been chosen to be the app's character. It tells a bit of my story and has a quiz about my career. The in-game photography is really cool because it shows a bit of my journey. It's also cool because you try to pass the levels and experience the free kick training moments I went through. I hope you like it," said Zico.
The app is now available on Android devices and the Apple Store. Those who download it will start by scoring free kicks in Quintino, where Zico grew up. After that, the user will progress through the "Italy World" and "Japan World" phases. In the latter, the game ends when Galinho is greeted by Japanese fans who fill the Kashima Antlers stadium, the site of Zico's greatest moments in the country.
"The game took about eight months to implement and configure. We started developing everything before even speaking to Zico. The app has already been launched in Japan, and we chose Samsung to help with distribution. Coca-Cola and Adidas helped by giving the game a more realistic feel, by displaying their brands on advertising signs, for example," said Fernando Vasconez, partner at NDV. The company, along with 213 Sports, sponsored the project.
