Last Tuesday (22), the project “Field of Dreams – We Will Play Together” went to Andaraí, in the North Zone of Rio, to carry out the sixth stage of the selection, which had the participation of more than one hundred young football talents who live in the community. The initiative, organized by the departments of Youth Football and Social Responsibility of Flamengo, is the result of a partnership between Mais Querido and the Sub-Prefecture of Grande Tijuca.
Andrade, a Mengão idol and project ambassador, attended the new tryouts. The event also featured donations of the club's sports equipment to social projects that benefit children and young people in the communities.
In addition to recruiting promising young athletes, "Campo dos Sonhos/Jogaremos Juntos" also provides training for educators who use soccer as a tool for social inclusion for children and young people living in the communities. The project uses socio-emotional learning through a methodology that fosters values such as resilience, perseverance, and self-confidence, rooted in the red-and-black DNA.
Next week, “Campo dos Sonhos - Jogaremos Juntos” will be in the Turano community to promote the penultimate stage of the project, with another selection among local children and young people.
