The social project “Campo dos Sonhos – Jogaremos Juntos”, organized by Flamengo's Social Responsibility and Youth Football departments, held a selection process this Wednesday (5), this time at Morro da Formiga, located in Tijuca, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The initiative went to the location with the aim of capturing young talents (children and young people between the ages of 5 and 15) from the communities in the region to carry out a period of testing and training at Rubro-Negro. The project is the result of a partnership between Mais Querido and the Sub-Prefecture of Grande Tijuca.
One of the project's initiatives is the "Perfect Pass" initiative, which involves donating sports equipment to participating social projects. Some items not used by Flamengo, such as shirts, shorts, vests, goalkeeper pants, and socks (all in good condition), are donated.
Mengão idol and ambassador of “Campo dos Sonhos”, Andrade was present at another selection and spoke about the red-black project.
"Flamengo is to be congratulated for this new initiative. I think it's up to the clubs to reach out to these young talents. I'll give you my example: I left a city in Minas Gerais and came to Gávea because someone believed in me and helped me. Otherwise, it would have been difficult for me to come. Today, the club has the opportunity to do the opposite and is reaching out to these young players," said the former player.
Another important project from Flamengo's Social Responsibility department, which is also linked to "Field of Dreams," is "We Will Play Together." This methodology, through sport, fosters values such as resilience, perseverance, and self-confidence, rooted in Flamengo's DNA.
Next week, “Campo dos Sonhos” will be at Morro do Andaraí holding a new selection with the local youth.
