The game:
Giving opportunities to players who hadn't played regularly in the Brazilian Championship, coach Marcio Torres fielded a significantly changed team. In the first half, still lacking chemistry, the "Garotos do Ninho" produced little, but went into halftime ahead. In the 33rd minute, Klebinho advanced down the right, cut inside, and set up Bill to make it 1-0 for Flamengo.
In the second half, Flamengo was a different team. The locker room conversation paid off, and Flamengo took control of the match, imposing its own rhythm and scoring more shots than its opponent. The second goal was only a matter of time, and it was in the 22nd minute that Flamengo found the net. Luiz Henrique broke into the box and received a good pass from Matheus Alves, the midfielder calmly dove in to extend the lead.
Vitor Gabriel, who had come on in the second half, sealed the deal for the Ninho Boys. In the 26th minute, the top scorer scored his first goal of the match. After a rebound from a corner, Yuri fed the striker, who controlled the ball with his chest and finished. Later, Yuri found Wendel with a through ball; the number 11 spotted Vitor Gabriel in the box and passed it to his teammate, who tapped it into the net.
Flamengo took to the field with the following lineup:
Victor Hugo, Klebinho, Nathan, Patrick Souza and Vitinho (Vitor Gabriel); Henrique, Matheus Alves, Bill, Luiz Henrique and Vinicius Souza (Yuri); Wendel. Coach Marcio Torres
