In March, Flamengo won the Adidas Generation Cup U-17 in Texas, securing an unprecedented international title against Atlético-PR. The goal that put the trophy in the hands of the "Garitos do Ninho" was scored by young João Gabriel, repeating a family feat. Son of Lê, a former player for "Mais Querido" and scorer of the Mercosul title-winning goal in 1999, the boy followed in his father's footsteps and made history with the Manto Sagrado abroad.

"At that moment, I just had to give thanks and cry a lot. Only God knows how much I fought, ever since I was little. The guys were so happy. I picked up the phone and said, 'What's up, Dad?' And he was yelling and cursing at me (laughs). It was funny," joked João. In an exclusive interview with FlaTV, he also talked about the responsibility of being Lê's son, his beginnings in soccer, and his next steps.

"They say lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place, but this time it did. I often say that things are different with Flamengo. The involvement is different. I'm very grateful that João can experience this. I always tell him to train for himself, because it's good here, it's different, it's a unique team, with directors who know me. He's at home. I'm completely happy. I talked, joked, teased. I went out on the street alone and shouted 'Mengo,' but no one understood anything because they weren't watching the U-17s. Everyone at home dreams his dream. He's on a good path and it's working out," celebrated the former player.

Their life stories intertwine and are shaped by football. With a passion spanning two generations, the father wants to pass on to his son everything he learned during his career. Meanwhile, young João Gabriel is forging his own path with the Manto, striving to grow even further at the club where Lê wrote his name.
