By Ian Sena - in- U-20:
América vs Flamengo - Wednesday (31) at 10 am, at Giulite Coutinho.
Flamengo vs Olaria - Saturday (03) at 10 am, at Gávea.
Competition: Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament (Second Phase)
After easily qualifying from the first phase as leaders of Group A with seven points earned in three games, the Under-20 team, coached by Marcio Torres, debuted in the second phase of the traditional Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament (OPG) with a 2-0 defeat to Olaria, greatly hampered by the poor condition of the pitch at Rua Bariri. Last Saturday, playing on the good pitch at Gávea, the "Garotos do Ninho" (Flamengo's youth team) recovered in the competition and defeated the dangerous Madureira 2-1, an important victory to put Flamengo back in the fight for a place in the final.
Victories over América and Olaria, in the two matches the team will face this week, will give Flamengo the lead in the group. In this phase, only the leader of each group guarantees a direct spot in the tournament final. The most successful club in history, Flamengo is seeking its 10th title.
