Flamengo's U-20 games have been synonymous with plenty of goals, fortunately for the opponent. In the last two matches alone, the red-and-blacks have scored 14 goals, four of which came in the 4-1 rout of Bangu, which marked the Mais Querido's debut in the second phase of the Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament (OPG). In the previous match, the score was even more impressive: 10-1 against Mesquita.
"This is a consequence of the excellent level of balance we've been demanding from the players. Their level of concentration and commitment during matches has increased, and everyone is deeply involved in this quest for a third OPG Tournament title. Game after game, we've been demanding an increasingly higher level from our players because we know the challenges ahead will be even greater, as all teams have qualified for this second phase," said coach Cleber dos Santos.
Member of group E, the club will play its next game against America, this Wednesday (30.10), at 15:30 pm, at the Gávea social headquarters.
"We've been watching America since the first phase, as it was a team that drew attention due to its impressive scores, especially against Vasco (there were two victories, one of them 4-1)," said Cleber.
In addition to Flamengo, América and Bangu, Serra Macaense is also part of group E. They will all face each other in two rounds, and the one with the highest score will play the final against the champion of group F.
