Flamengo gave Cuiabá no chance and achieved their fourth victory in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. The red-black team won 2-0 in the match played on Wednesday afternoon (25), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea, for the seventh round of the competition. Ryan Roberto scored both goals in the match.

Flamengo, more aggressive on the attack, didn't create any significant chances until the 17th minute, when Luiz Guilherme burst into the box and was brought down by the goalkeeper. Ryan Roberto struck with skill the following minute to open the scoring. Daniel Franklin's team was creating good triangles, especially on the right, but was missing the final pass.

Ryan Roberto appeared again in the set piece, this time in a foul he suffered and well saved by the goalkeeper, in the 23rd minute. The Rubro-negro almost scored the second in a corner kick that went past all the players, inside the area, in the 31st minute. Despite not creating many chances, Fla had practically no work in defense.

The pace of the game dropped slightly from there. The red-and-black team began to let Cuiabá have the ball a little more, forcing mistakes from their opponents and quickly attacking. In the 47th minute, Ryan Roberto, always him, took advantage of a leftover corner kick from the right and struck a powerful shot from outside the box, forcing another great save from the opposing goalkeeper.

The second half began as the first ended, but this time with a happy ending for Flamengo. Ryan Roberto found the net again in the third minute with a powerful, first-time shot from inside the box. In the 3st minute, the Cuiabá captain fired a long-range shot over the bar. Luiz Guilherme threatened Mengão again with a cross-shot that the goalkeeper saved in the right corner, palming it out to the goal line.

In another good run down the right, full-back Diego Guimarães made a good cross and Victor Hugo headed the ball just wide of the right post in the 31st minute. Fla still attacked a few times, but was unable to extend their lead.

The Rubro-Negro's next match in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship will be against Bahia, away from home, on Tuesday (1/7), at CT Evaristo de Macedo. Before that, however, the team will play the first game of the Campeonato Carioca final against Botafogo, on Saturday (28), at 18 pm, at Estádio Nilton Santos.
