This Friday, President Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, Vice President of Marketing Daniel Orlean, and Director of the GPI Education System Jorge Menezes Neto held a press conference to announce another new partnership for Mais Querido. Starting in 2018, the club's youth academy athletes will receive scholarships to continue their education at the institution. In addition to this benefit, support in other areas, such as pedagogy, will aid in the development of these athletes.
In the Victorino Chermont Press Room at Ninho do Urubu, the Flamengo president celebrated this union. "We are here today to formalize a partnership that I consider extremely important. Flamengo is a club that develops athletes and citizens, and there's nothing better than partnering with a company with the credibility and history of GPI, which will help us fill this gap in the development of our athletes. Starting today, GPI will be with us at the Training Center, and I'm certain it will be a lasting and highly productive partnership for all of us," celebrated Bandeira de Mello.
For Flamengo, the development goals of the Ninho Boys go far beyond what happens on the field. Planning the future of its young talents also encompasses the educational sphere. Vice President of Marketing Daniel Orlean, the mentor of this partnership, emphasized the club's fundamental role in investing not only in what the players can deliver on the field, but also in society as a whole.
"The president emphasized the institutional importance of partnering with an educational system so our athletes can develop not only athletically, but also from a human perspective, developing skills, and creating a future. Many of them will eventually pursue careers that may or may not be related to football. Of course, we want them to perform on the field, but we believe in well-trained professionals not only athletically, but in all aspects of a person's life," said the vice president, recalling other successful projects. "We've already partnered with Yes for languages, with Orthopride for dentistry and aesthetics, with Universidade Brasil for undergraduate programs, and now with GPI, which will provide us with training at various levels for our youth athletes," he projected.
Finally, Jorge Menezes Neto, the institution's general director, celebrated the completion of this new project, which will aim to leverage the traditional competence and effectiveness of the GPI education system in the development of these athletes. "We are delighted to have sealed this partnership with a major club, with a passionate and immense fan base, an incredibly strong brand, and a long-standing Rio de Janeiro education system with 48 years of history and a track record of successes at various levels and competitive exams. And today, by sealing this partnership, we see that Flamengo's youth academy will be able to deliver not only to the field, but also to society as better citizens," he concluded.
