Flamengo signed partnership with the command of the Pacification Police Units (UPPs) and the State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth to recruit players for the red-black base and the selection process began this Monday (13) with the first youth football class formed through this project. Twenty-nine players aged 12 and 13 participated in the activities, which are being held at the George Helal Training Center, and included team presentation, distribution of uniforms, a lecture and activities on the field.

In the same format as recruitment open to all candidates, the 26 outfield players and three goalkeepers from 20 communities pacified by the UPPs will be evaluated during the week by coach Mauro Félix, technical observer Thiago Araújo and recruitment coordinator Luiz Carlos Azevedo.

On Friday (17), the players will play a training match with the Flamengo team in the category for a final evaluation and delivery of results. Those approved will also have two weeks of training with those already federated to adapt before the final approval for those who will continue in the Mais Querido base. New groups will be formed in the future to recruit players in other categories.
