Flamengo will face Corinthians, this Wednesday (23), at 15 pm, at Alfredo Schürig Stadium (Fazendinha), located in Parque São Jorge, for the last round of the qualifying phase of the Brazilian U-17. Only a victory in this direct fight for a place in the quarterfinals guarantees Rubro-Negro in the next phase of the competition. However, there are chances of advancing with a draw and even in case of defeat.

After winning 1-0 against São Paulo, in Gávea, in the last round, Flamengo occupies the fourth place in the Brazilian Under-17, with 34 points, the same score as Atlético-MG, which is one position above, according to the goal difference criterion.

Eight teams are fighting for the six remaining spots in the quarterfinals, as leaders Palmeiras, with 43 points, and second-placed Athletico-PR, with 36, are already qualified. In addition to Flamengo and Atlético-MG, six more teams could advance: Bragantino, which is fifth, with 33; followed by Grêmio (32); Corinthians (32); Vasco (32); Fluminense (32); and Santos (31).

The ten games of the 19th round of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship will be this Tuesday (23), at the same time, at 15 pm. In addition to Corinthians and Flamengo, five more matches will define the seven remaining places: Vasco x Atlético-MG; Cruzeiro x Bragantino; Grêmio x Santos; Athletico-PR x Botafogo; and Fluminense x Internacional-RS.

After training last Sunday (21), held at CT George Helal, the Flamengo delegation traveled to São Paulo. Coach Daniel Franklin led the team's last training session before the clash with Corinthians on Monday morning (22), at CT Portuguesa, located in the capital of São Paulo.
