Flamengo climbed two positions in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, after the 1-0 victory in Fla-Flu, last Wednesday. However, there is no time for rest. This Saturday (25), the Garotos do Ninho return to the field to face Cruzeiro, at 15 pm, at Estádio José Bastos Padilha, in Gávea, for the eighth round of the competition.

Coach Bruno Pivetti's team is looking for its third consecutive victory. As the interval between the two matches of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship will be 72 hours, recovery was the main objective in the athletes' preparation. But there was also work on the field: the last activity before the duel with the Minas Gerais team was carried out on the morning of this Friday (24), at the George Helal Training Center.

With their victory in the derby against Fluminense in the previous round, Flamengo reached 13 points, with four wins, one draw, and two losses. They scored 13 goals and conceded 12. Their opponent this Saturday, Cruzeiro, is the runner-up in the competition with 16 points and a better goal difference than Vasco da Gama, which has the same number of points. Santos is fourth with 14 points, and Palmeiras leads with 17.
