Flamengo defeated Bahia 2-0 and reached its fifth victory in the Brazilian Under-20, on Wednesday afternoon (7), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea. The team's top scorer in the season, Pedro Leão scored both goals for the red-blacks, both in the second half of the match, and reached 12, in 2025. The next match will be against São Paulo, on Thursday (15/5), at 18 pm, in Cotia.

Nuno Campos' team lacked inspiration in the first half, yet they had the best chances to open the scoring. After the break, the team managed to adjust the pressure and made things much more difficult for their opponents. The teams set a strong pace after the break, and the game's temperature rose. Flamengo eventually prevailed, scoring twice to seal the victory.

Early in the game, Bahia tried to launch an attack, but failed to create any significant opportunities. Flamengo quickly increased their play and began to have a stronger attacking presence after the eighth minute. In the 8th minute, the Bahian team had a shot over the bar. Five minutes later, Flamengo again shot, this time well saved by Nannetti.

The red-and-blacks came out strong in the 28th minute, with a well-organized counterattack by Mora, which Shola fired powerfully and the goalkeeper saved. Three minutes later, Pedro Leão arrived in good position but couldn't quite find the target. Another good pass from Shola passed to Daniel Sales, who shot, but the Bahian number 1 made another good save.

The best play of the first half came in the 44th minute, when Wanderson crossed from the right, Pedro Leão hit a beautiful volley, and once again gave the opposing goalkeeper trouble. Five minutes later, the referee blew the final whistle.

The game resumed with a higher intensity and a tighter pace. In the 16th minute, Wanderson passed to Wallace Yan, who burst into the box and was only stopped by the opposing goalkeeper. Guilherme then had his shot blocked on another play from the right. Soon after, another attack, this time from the left, came from Daniel Sales, who crossed, and the ball grazed the post.

Flamengo's top scorer for the U-20 team, Pedro Leão, scored his 11th goal of the season in the 26th minute. The number 9 took advantage of a great play by Daniel Sales, who broke into the attacking half and provided the perfect pass for a cross-shot. Bahia could have equalized with a free kick in the 20th minute. The ball went just over the crossbar.

With Felipe Vieira coming on for Wanderson, Daniel Sales returned to right-back, his original position, and he got his second assist of the match by delivering a perfect cross for Pedro Leão's second goal in the 31st minute.
