After a great away win in the Copa do Brasil Sub-20, Flamengo returns to the field this Saturday afternoon (18), at 15 pm, aiming for qualification for the grand final of the Campeonato Carioca. The Garotos do Ninho are the current champions of the Taça Guanabara and will host Botafogo at the Gávea stadium in the fight for a place in another final.

Flamengo comes off a great result against Corinthians, winning 2-1 away from home and securing an advantage for Tuesday's match. Before that, however, the Rubro-Negro have a difficult duel against Botafogo, facing their opponent to try and secure a spot in another final, this time for the State Championship.

Semifinais
After Flamengo's title in the Taça Guanabara, the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) team was eliminated early in the Taça Rio, which was won by Fluminense. Now, the four major clubs of Rio face each other in the semifinals of the State Championship, battling for the 2018 Carioca Championship trophy. The match between Fluminense and Vasco, valid for the other semifinal, will also be on Saturday at 10 am.

Retrospect
Flamengo and Botafogo faced each other twice in the 2018 Carioca Championship. The first was precisely in the Guanabara Cup final, when the teams clashed at the Nilton Santos stadium. With a late goal from Yuri, Flamengo emerged victorious and with another title that season.

In the Taça Rio, the teams faced each other in the 4th round at the same venue as this Saturday's match. At Gávea, Flamengo opened the scoring with a penalty from Pepê, but conceded an equalizer in the second half and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Tickets
Entry to the match is free for both fan groups. However, for security reasons, the audience will be limited to 500 people per club (not counting members of the social headquarters) and the Gávea stadium will be subject to capacity limits. The fan groups will be separated in the stands and will enter through different gates. Once the security personnel at the gates count the number of fans, no one else will be allowed to enter, except for club members.
