Flamengo plays with great desire, scores two goals, but does not advance in the U-20 Brazil Cup

The mission was difficult and the players had no shortage of will to accomplish it on Tuesday night (October 08.10th) in Macaé. Having lost the first leg to Remo 3-0, Flamengo needed to win by four goals to advance to the quarterfinals of the U-20 Brazil Cup. The Most Beloved only won 2-0, with goals from Eduardo and Igor Sartori, and was eliminated.
From the first minute, the team attacked and kept Remo from playing. The pressure was so intense that Rubro-Negro goalkeeper Luan didn't even need to worry about the opposition's attacks. The match became even more exciting when Remo's Alex Ruan was sent off. With an extra man, Remo began to have more space and finally found the net in the 43rd minute of the first half, with striker Eduardo.
The second half was also marked by Flamengo's pressure, as they began to gain every rebound and loose ball. In the 16th minute, Igor Sartori doubled the lead with a cross-shot. Attacking midfielder Renan Donizete came on very well in the second half, giving the team even more energy. He moved and created chances, but the ball stubbornly refused to go in again. Before the final whistle, Mattheus hit the post.
The focus now shifts to the Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament (OPG). In this competition, the club sits second in Group B with eight points, trailing only Serra Macaense; the next round pits these two clubs against each other. They will face off on Saturday (October 12.10) at 15 p.m. in Gávea.
