Flamengo's U-20 soccer team, recently crowned state champions, won't have much time to rest. Two weeks after winning the Rio de Janeiro state championship, the team returns to the field, this time in the Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament, defending the title they won in 2014. In the opening round, Flamengo faces Portuguesa on August 29.08th at 15 p.m. at Gávea Stadium.

Flamengo is in Group C, which also includes Portuguesa, Ceres, Nova Iguaçu, and Americano. In the first phase, the clubs will face each other in a home and away match. The top two teams from each group advance to the second phase. In 2014, with a 3-1 victory over Botafogo, Flamengo won its eighth title in the competition and became the tournament's most successful team.
