Flamengo went to Xerém to play the eighth round of the Taça Guanabara Sub-15, on the morning of this Wednesday (6). After a goalless draw in regulation time, in a duel held at the Estádio Marcelo Vieira, Rubro-Negro added two more points by beating Fluminense (4x3), in the penalty shootout.

With the victory in penalties, Flamengo overtook Botafogo and took second place in the Taça GB, a single-round tournament that qualifies the top eight teams for the knockout stage of the Carioca Sub-15 championship. However, Fluminense, currently in fourth place with 18 points, could reach second place if they beat Vasco, as both teams have one game less played.

The Flamengo youth team returns to the field next Sunday (10) for the continuation of the Copa do Brasil Sub-15, at 3 pm, at CT George Helal. The opponent will be Atlético-GO. Flamengo leads group A7 of the competition, with two wins in two games. The Goianiense team is in second place, with 4 points. In the Carioca Championship, the Rubro-Negro will face Botafogo in the next match. The game is scheduled for next Wednesday (May 13), at 10 am, at CT George Helal.
