Flamengo was beaten 1-0 by Fluminense, away from home, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Campeonato Carioca Sub-17. In a dispute on the morning of this Saturday (14), at the Marcelo Vieira Stadium, in Xerém, Rubro-Negro conceded the goal in the first half and, despite all the willingness to make up the difference, was unable to draw.

Despite playing on the opposing team's field, Daniel Franklin's team started the game on the attack, marking the ball out and looking for attacking plays. It was during a high marking situation that Luiz Guilherme came face to face with goalkeeper Eduardo, who made a good save in the 7th minute. The Tricolor's number 1 had to work again with a free kick from the right in the 14th.

Soon after, with another foul, this time on the left, Flamengo continued to attack, first with a free kick and then a corner, both taken by Ryan Roberto. Fluminense responded, but the Flamengo defense blocked the shot in the 18th minute. Shots from outside the box were the opponent's main attacking play, and they opened the scoring in the 40th minute with João Pedro.

Fluminense began the second half with a stronger attacking presence, and Eduardo Clasen made a good save in the 5th minute. Flamengo responded and, three minutes later, the equalizer was barely a goal away. Ryan Roberto took a corner from the left, Daniel headed it into the middle of the box, and Levi almost scored with a header.

With the deficit, Flamengo increased its play, pushed forward to find the equalizer, and had to be careful on the counterattacks. In the 25th minute, Fluminense broke quickly after the defense cleared a corner kick, and Eduardo Clasen palmed another shot from outside the box over the goal line. At the end of the match, Luiz Guilherme unleashed a dangerous shot. The ball grazed the crossbar and into the goalkeeper's left corner.

The second game, which will define one of the finalists of the Carioca Sub-17, is scheduled for next Saturday (21), at 10 am, at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea.
