Flamengo's under-17 team created many scoring opportunities, but could not avoid a 1-0 defeat.

The numerous attacks did not end in a goal and Flamengo ended up defeated 1-0 by Botafogo, in the second game of the decision of the Campeonato Carioca Sub-17. With the result of the match, held this Saturday (5), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea, the opponent took the title of the competition.

Just like the first leg of the final, the match started at a high pace, with both teams eager to attack. However, the attacking plays didn't pose any major threats to either side. Flamengo sought triangles, particularly on the right, and Luiz Guilherme, João Vitor, and Ryan Roberto were always a good alternative.

In their first major attack, Botafogo opened the scoring in the 24th minute. Flamengo came from the left in the 29th minute, with Ryan Roberto firing over the bar. In the 33rd minute, Botafogo quickly counterattacked and was stopped by goalkeeper Eduardo Clasen. Ryan Roberto then took a free kick from the edge of the box, the ball going past everyone and ending up in the goalkeeper's hands.

Flamengo started the second half pressing strongly and stole some balls that could have led to good attacks, but they lacked continuity. In the 5th minute, Jhefinho made a good play that nearly left Luiz Guilherme in a good position. Three minutes later, another move nearly left Luiz Guilherme face-to-face with the goal.

The black and white goalkeeper saved two consecutive headers, the first of which, by João Vitor, hit the post in the 14th minute. A minute later, it was Enzo Pinheiro's turn, finding the right corner for another save from the opposing number 1. In the 19th minute, defender Levy Dias, the red and black captain, prevented a shot from the striker directly in front of goal.

With plenty of possession, Flamengo constantly sought to attack, and this exposure led to some dangerous counterattacks. On another attack, the ball once again passed in front of goal after Victor Hugo's shot in the 31st minute. João Vitor crossed from the left, but the opposing goalkeeper saved it again. Flamengo then nearly scored on two consecutive plays. 

In a race against time, the clock was already showing 40 minutes when Ryan Roberto's shot was saved by Botafogo's number 1. In the 44th minute, Ryan Roberto scored again, this time with a header that grazed the right post. Despite their spirited performance, the score remained unfavorable until the end.
