Two classics between Flamengo and Vasco continued the Guanabara Cup in two categories. After a draw at one goal, in the under-17 category, the Garotos do Ninho won 3x2 in the penalty shootout and took two points in the competition. In the under-15 category, the red-black team was defeated 2x0. The matches were played this Saturday (18), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea.

From the moment the ball started rolling, the under-17 match was evenly matched, with many ball disputes and few dangerous plays. Not even the intense heat dampened the teams' efforts. Vasco ended up opening the scoring in the 36th minute of the first half.

The scenario was quite similar in the second half. However, Flamengo was more focused on attacking plays, and the opponent responded with counter-attacks. The effort of the young Flamengo players was rewarded in the 49th minute when Davi Fraga provided a great assist for João Couto to skillfully chip the goalkeeper, securing the draw.

According to the Carioca Championship regulations, the Guanabara Cup matches, both in the under-17 and under-15 categories, have penalty shootouts in case of a tie. In the penalty shootout, Flamengo won 3-2. Anthony, Davi Carrijo, and Lucas Tatsch scored the goals. Gabriel Werneck also stood out by saving two penalties.

In the under-15 category, Flamengo conceded two goals in the first half, at 25 and 33 minutes, and failed to overcome the opponent's advantage. Coach João Marcos' team still had good chances to score in the second half, but the goal didn't come.
