After a good start, Flamengo conceded the first goal in the first half and the second right at the beginning of the final stage and was beaten 3-1 by Botafogo, away from home, on the synthetic turf of the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium, for the Carioca Sub-20. The match, valid for the seventh round of the Guanabara Cup, was played this Saturday (13). Guilherme scored the red-black goal.

The Flamengo under-20 team's next match will be against Nova Iguaçu, next Wednesday (17), at 10 am, in Gávea, in a postponed match from the fourth round of Carioca.

With right-back Daniel Sales and defender João Vitor both missing, both of whom have been added to the professional squad, and goalkeeper Leo Nannetti, who suffered a minor finger injury, Flamengo started the match with a rush down the right and nearly scored with a Pablo pass, which served Douglas a shot to the goalkeeper's left in the 8th minute. Botafogo responded three minutes later. Well-positioned defender Da Mata cleared the ball. Another run down the right saw Gusttavo cross and Pedro Leão hit a powerful shot, but it was blocked.

In the 15th minute, Eduardo Jung made a good save from a strong opponent's attack. In the 29th minute, Pedro Leão had a good opportunity inside the box. The number 9 shot was well saved by the goalkeeper. Botafogo opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, with an own goal by Da Mata. The Red-Black team still had two corners before the end of the first half.

Just six minutes into the second half, striker José Kadir extended the lead for Botafogo. In the 6th minute, Botafogo scored the third with Felipe Januário. In the 19st minute, Ryan Roberto made an individual play and shot. The ball deflected off the defense, but the goalkeeper managed to grab it. Guilherme reduced the deficit with a shot from inside the box in the 31th minute.
