Four games from the youth teams of the red-black football team further livened up the already busy Children's Day in Gávea. The U-13, U-14, U-15 and U-17 teams took to the field this Wednesday (12) and, at the end of the day, the result was positive for Mais Querido.

Mengão's first victory came this morning, against the U-17 boys. In a match valid for the 11th round of the Taça Rio in that category, Flamengo hosted the strong Nova Iguaçu team, fourth in the standings, and performed well. In a close game, but in which they had complete control and possession, and with a solid performance, the Rubro-Negro didn't face any challenges and won 2-0, with goals from Jardeu and Bill. The result keeps Flamengo, which already won the Taça Guanabara, in sole leadership of its group in the Taça Rio, now with 26 points. In the next round, the Mais Querido heads up the mountains to face Friburguense, on the 15th at 13 pm.

After a short lunch break, the U-14 team took the field to host Boavista in the first round of the return leg of the Rio Cup. The Guanabara Cup champion and group leader in the current stage of the championship, Flamengo overcame the fact that they were severely short-handed due to the category's Dadazinho Cup, which is taking place this week in Belo Horizonte. They demonstrated a strong squad and demonstrated high-quality and competent youth work. Even with a mix of starting lineups and U-13 players, they dominated the match from the first minute to the last, winning 3-0 with goals from Pedro Peçanha, Yan, and Rickson.
