Goals galore! U-20s thrash Boavista 4-0 in the Campeonato Carioca
Thiaguinho, Lázaro, Gabriel Barros and Noga scored the goals for Mengão
By Nathan Soares - inA Saturday morning (19) with lots of goals. Flamengo U-20 defeated Boavista, at CEFAN, by 4 to 0. The goals were scored by Thiaguinho, Lázaro, Gabriel Barros and Noga.
The game
First time
The match began with Flamengo dominating the attack, but Boavista played cautiously, avoiding dangerous shots. However, in the 22nd minute, a well-worked play saw Daniel Cabral find Thiaguinho, who headed the ball in to open the scoring. After the goal, Mengão continued to attack, often being stopped by the opponent's tight marking. In the 35th minute, Thiaguinho forced a great save from the Boavista goalkeeper.
Second time
The Boys from the Nest picked up the pace in the second half. After pressure, Flamengo extended their lead with a Lázaro header in the 9th minute. Mengão continued to press and scored their third goal with Gabriel Barros's beautiful shot from outside the box. Noga scored Mengão's fourth from a set piece in the 35th minute. The pressure continued in the final minutes, but without a fifth goal.
