Flamengo's youth team has been plagued by rain that has caused disruptions in Rio de Janeiro in recent days. The Rubro-Negro U-20 team had its training session canceled on Tuesday afternoon, but the players aren't worried and promise full dedication this weekend.

Next Sunday, coach Armênio Moura's team faces América in Gávea. This round is crucial for Flamengo, which still dreams of winning the U-20 Guanabara Cup. After all, its main rivals, Fluminense and Vasco, face off at São Januário. A draw would be the best result.

"Everyone had difficulty training. Not much has changed, because we have a good plan, the group is working well and is in the final stretch, very motivated for the next games. We hope that this Wednesday (07.04) we can train", said the coach.

Striker Lucas Souza is eagerly awaiting Sunday's match. He'd been waiting for an opportunity since the end of the Copa São Paulo, and it arrived last weekend. The striker scored twice in the 5-1 rout of Tigres and hopes to repeat the feat against América.

"It was a very good match for me and the team. We really needed the result and we got it. Now, we'll see. I hope I can play in Sunday's game and help Flamengo get another victory," said Lucas.

With two rounds remaining in the Taça Guanabara, the team is one point behind Fluminense and two behind Vasco in the title race.
