Classic in sight

Juniors prepare for Fla-Flu

Next Wednesday (07.05), at 15 pm, Flamengo's under-20 boys face Fluminense, in the first classic of the return leg of the Campeonato Carioca. The stage for the match will be the Tricolor's training center, in Xerém.

Coach Marcelo Buarque praises his players, who are undefeated in the Rio Cup, and guarantees that the attacking approach the team has shown in recent games will be maintained for the Fla-Flu.

"I talked to them and said we have to behave the same way (against Fluminense). Everything they've achieved so far has been through this work. We have everything we need to play well, and these classic games are the ones that matter most. The boys are super motivated. We have to win this round to compete for the state title, and we can beat the Guanabara Cup champion (Flu), which is another motivation. Victories in this context boost the boys' self-esteem," he said.

The coach points out that this is the first challenge of the next two rounds of the second half. "After this one, we have another derby against Vasco right after. We're going to play the game, that's what Flamengo is doing today. What matters is what we do on the field," he concluded.

Flamengo is second in the Taça Rio table, with 16 points, two behind leaders Botafogo.
