Having qualified in advance for the Rio Cup semifinals, Flamengo's under-20 team took to the field with a reserve team to face Nova Iguaçu last Saturday (July 18.07th) at the José Bastos Padilha stadium, in Gávea. The boys drew 2-2 in the last round of the second-round qualifying phase and received the Super Classics trophy from the federation.
The red-and-black goals were scored by Felipe Vizeu and Dener. With the result, the Mais Querido reached 32 points and secured second place in the standings. The opponent in the semifinal will be the same as in the first round, Vasco, who finished third in the first phase. The games will be on July 25th and August 1st, in São Januário and Gávea, respectively. Both are scheduled for 15 pm.
Champion of the Guanabara Cup, Flamengo can be the direct champion of the Carioca Championship in the category, if it wins the Rio Cup.
