Athletes Caio Barone and Guilherme Gomes were guests this Wednesday (4) on the program “Garotos do Ninho”, on FlaTV, and spoke a little about their good performances for Mengão. The youngsters also commented on the team's good phase and projected the duels against São Paulo, for the Brazilian Under-17 Championship.

About Caio changing position
"I tried out for Santos as a defender, but the week I went, their goalkeeper had just left. I didn't even play goalkeeper in pick-up games, I never played in goal, nothing. I was always a defender, sometimes a defensive midfielder. I never tried out for goalkeeper; it was my first experience."
Guilherme's arrival at Flamengo
"I've always played midfield, a little further forward, and I even played as a striker. I started at the age of five, at my hometown's youth academy, and I played in regional competitions. When I was thirteen, a scout from Azuriz, in Paraná, saw me playing and invited me to be evaluated. I went there with my grandfather. I tried out for a week, passed, and played there for a year and five months. We stopped during the pandemic, and we went home, but in 2021, I was invited to join Azuriz's professional squad. I spent a month training with them, and then Flamengo called me."
