In a very difficult match played this Saturday afternoon (03) at the Gávea Stadium and valid for the third round of the Guanabara Cup U-20, Flamengo received Resende. In a very balanced duel from start to finish, the Garotos do Ninho overcame another game full of adversities in the season and, even playing with one player less since the 31st minute of the first half, when Aderlan received the second yellow card and was sent off, they won 1-0 (Vitor Ricardo) and reached their third victory in three games in the Guanabara Cup, maintaining their 100% success rate and the leadership of Group A of the first round of the State Championship. The next game is the classic against Vasco, scheduled for next Thursday (08) at 10 am, at Gávea.

Resende started by creating the best chances. In the seventh minute, Moises' cross-shot dangerously went close to the right post of Yago's goal. The game was very even. Flamengo began to have more possession, but failed to create many scoring chances until the timeout. In the 23rd minute, Luan David struck a powerful shot, but goalkeeper Nathan made a solid save. 

In the 31st minute, Aderlan made a heavy tackle in the center of the field and received his second yellow card, leaving the Mais Querido ten men short in a match that was shaping up to be a very difficult one. Still, the Boys from the Nest created chances. In the 38th minute, Patrick drove the ball at speed and set up Washington. He crossed to Samuel's head, but the ball went over Nathan's goal. 

The first scoring chances of the second half fell to the red-and-blacks. In the 10th minute, Luan David advanced well down the right wing and passed the ball to Patrick. The midfielder fired a powerful first-time shot over Nathan's goal. Vitor Ricardo was then released unmarked at the edge of the box, but his control was poor, and the goalkeeper managed to smother the ball at the right time, narrowly avoiding a penalty. 

In the 14th minute, Luan David was fouled, and Patrick fired a superb shot over the wall. Nathan deflected it with his fingertips, the ball hitting the post and landing at the feet of defender Luiz, who cleared the danger. Even with ten men down, Resende were the better team and pressed forward in search of the first goal. But in the 25th minute, Resende were the ones who threatened. Israel crossed, and Vitor appeared free on the penalty spot, but his shot was poor and off target. 

Superior on the field despite playing ten men down, the Ninho Boys were rewarded with the first goal in the 35th minute. Marx Lenin, who had just come on, passed to Vitor Ricardo. He fired a superb shot into the left corner, but Nathan was unable to stop him. In the 42nd minute, Juninho raced down the right wing and crossed for Luan David. Unmarked on the penalty spot, he fired a first-time shot to the right of Nathan's goal, posing a serious threat.

"We started the game a little unfocused and came under some pressure, including having a player sent off. At halftime, coach Mauricio got the team in the locker room, and we came out with a different attitude for the second half. With a lot of unity, determination, and love for this wonderful jersey, we managed to assert ourselves on the field and came away with this very important victory in the competition.
