Current champions, the Garotos do Ninho will seek their third Libertadores Sub-20 title, which will be played between March 7 and 22, in Quito, capital of Ecuador. The list of 20 players registered for the competition (above) was defined this Wednesday (4). The draw to define the matches between the 12 teams is scheduled for next Tuesday (10), at noon, at the Conmebol headquarters, located in Luque, Paraguay.
Flamengo is in Pot 1, which includes clubs from the countries with the highest rankings in the previous edition, and will occupy position 1 in Group A. Palmeiras and Belgrano-ARG complete the pot, and the draw will determine the other seeded teams (groups B and C).
Pot 2 contains the three teams representing the countries that achieved the next best positions in the ranking (final result of the previous edition of the tournament): Nacional - URU, Sporting Cristal - PER, and Independiente Medellín - COL. These teams will occupy position 2 of each group. The first ball drawn will be position A2, the second, B2, and the third, C2.
Pot 3 will contain the three teams representing the countries with the next best ranking (final result of the previous edition of the tournament). Olimpia-PAR, Santiago Wenders-CHI and Bolívar-BOL will occupy position 3 in each group. The draw will follow the same format used to determine the group positions: the first ball drawn will be position A3, the second, B3, and the third, C3.
Finally, Pot 4 will consist of LDU-EQU and Estudiantes Mérida, the two teams representing the next ranked countries (final result of the previous edition of the tournament), plus Universidad Católica-EQU, the additional team from the host country. The draw will also follow the same format as the other groups, determining the fourth positions in each of the three groups.

Forward Douglas Telles showed abnormalities in laboratory tests conducted by the club, which could compromise his health and performance at high altitudes. For this reason, the player is not registered for the U-20 Libertadores Cup, which will be played in Quito. The capital of Ecuador is located 2.850 meters above sea level.
