Flamengo's under-17 and under-15 teams will play classics against Vasco da Gama, in the ninth round of the Copa Rio, this Saturday (4), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea. The under-15 kids will take to the field first, at 9 am, while the under-17 category will play at 11 am. The under-20 team will face Madureira, for the Carioca, at 10 am, at Aniceto Moscoso.
With a game in hand, Flamengo sits fourth in the Rio U-17 Cup. They have four wins and two draws, scoring 15 goals and conceding 11. The leader is Fluminense, who also have a game in hand, followed by Vasco, both with 18 points. Resende is third with 15. The team led by coach Daniel Franklin has 14 points and hopes to turn things around after failing to qualify for the Brazilian semifinals.
In the Rio U-15 Cup, Flamengo is in third place with 17 points, five wins, and two draws. In seven matches, the Red-Black team has scored 21 goals and conceded four. Fluminense is in first place, while Botafogo is second, both with 19 points.
After beating Sampaio Corrêa 4-0 in the previous round of the U-20 Carioca Championship, Mengão is looking for another victory, this time against Madureira, away from home. The team is in third place, level on 19 points with Botafogo, who sits in second place due to a one-goal advantage. The leader is Vasco, with 24.
