In another initiative aimed at developing Flamengo's youth academy, a cornerstone of the club's philosophy in this area, defender Danilo spoke with athletes from the under-15 and under-16 categories in the auditorium of the George Helal Training Center, in the youth academy area. The talk is part of the "Champion Chat" project, led by Alfredo Almeida, director of the youth academy, in collaboration with Patricia Negreiros, coordinator of the human development department.

Champion Talk aims to strengthen the sense of belonging among youth athletes through their role models: the club's idols and professional players. These are precisely the credentials Danilo has amassed throughout his successful career. He has won more than ten titles throughout his career. The defender has won the Club World Cup, the Champions League twice, the Copa Libertadores, and the European Super Cup, among others.

His performance on the field goes beyond that. At 34, Danilo, who represented Brazil in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, is recognized for his natural leadership and dedication to passing on his experience to the next generation. It's no wonder he was so enthusiastic after being listened to attentively by young players who barely blinked.

"It was a wonderful experience to be able to share some of my experiences with the kids. I think this type of activity should become a regular occurrence, reducing the gap between the youth and professional levels and increasing the feeling of integration and belonging to the club and its culture," said Danilo, with a touch of nostalgia.

"It was beautiful to see the sparkle in the boys' eyes, reviving in me a feeling of pleasure in playing football and creating an even greater connection with the colors of Flamengo," he added.

During the meeting, Danilo shared stories from his career, the challenges he faced abroad, his dreams, and his remaining goals. Alfredo Almeida, Flamengo's youth academy director, emphasized the importance of off-field activities for the youth's development. And there's nothing better than an athlete who's successful in every sense of the word.

"Danilo fulfilled his dream of playing for Flamengo. We tried to show our youth players Danilo's journey, which wasn't easy, but he managed to achieve beyond his abilities on the field. We will continue this initiative with other professional athletes so that our youth players can understand each one's story, the difficulties they faced, and the focus they had to overcome them," said the director.
