Debut on the right foot! In the Carioca Sub-17, Flamengo beat Boavista 2-1, in a comeback, this Saturday morning (21), in Gávea. Mengão's goals were scored by Iago and Riquelme, both in the second half.

The game
The first half started with a well-thought-out approach, with Flamengo looking to attack more. In the 14th minute, Rodriguinho received the ball on the right side of the box, cut inside, and took a shot. The ball deflected off the defense and went out for a corner. Rodriguinho then made another good run down the right and crossed low to Jonathan, who pivoted inside the box and hit the crossbar.

In the 20th minute, on a counterattack, Boavista opened the scoring through Barros, who received the pass, found himself unmarked, and slotted it past Gustavo: 1-0. After conceding the goal, Boavista sought an equalizer, pushing forward through the wings, but struggled to find a way to score. In the final minute, Italo took a corner kick into the box and Carbone headed it in, but the goalkeeper saved it. Boavista went into halftime trailing.

After the second half, Flamengo continued to pressure Boavista in search of an equalizer. In the fourth minute, Italo took a corner kick, which Iago rose above the defense and headed just wide of the post. Flamengo continued to create chances but lacked the final pass. In the 21st minute, Jonathan made a good individual run down the right, burst into the box, and fired a powerful shot. The goalkeeper made a good save.

In the 29th minute, Mengão leveled the score! After a corner kick, Iago rose to the far post and headed the ball into the back of the net: 1-1. Four minutes later, the Mengão took the lead. Adriel made a pass and crossed for Diego, who headed the ball to Riquelme, who finished into the net and sealed the 2-1 comeback victory for the red-and-blacks.

Next appointment
Flamengo's U-17s return to the field next (28) to face Portuguesa, at 11 am, at Marrentão. This will be the postponed match of the first round of the Campeonato Carioca in the category.
