In the first classic of the Guanabara U-20 Cup, Flamengo came from behind to beat Botafogo 3-2 on Saturday morning (12) in Gávea. Guilherme, Wallace Yan and Zé Welinton scored for Mengão, who remained at the top of the competition with a 100% record. It was coach Filipe Luís's first classic in charge of the U-20 team.

In the rain at Gávea, the derby began with the teams studying each other. The "Garotos do Ninho" (Nest Boys) sought to exchange passes to reach the opponent's box. Soon after, Mengão equalized. Shola made a great play down the left, crossed into the box, and Wallace Yan tapped it into the net, scoring his seventh goal of the competition: 2-2.

After the equalizer, the game became more open, with both teams pushing forward to try to score the winning goal. In the 42nd minute, Wallace Yan was released at speed, entered the box, and struck hard. The ball went wide.

The Ninho Boys were valiant, fighting until the end, and were crowned with the winning goal in stoppage time! Zé Welinton's perfect free kick found the goalkeeper's right corner. The game ended with a 3-2 comeback victory for Mengão.

With this result, Mais Querido maintained its lead in the Guanabara Cup with a 100% record. They have six wins in six matches in the competition. It's also worth noting that this was coach Filipe Luís's first derby in charge of the U-20 team.
